One such feature lies in the ability to turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot.
As the name suggests, by creating a Wi-Fi hotspot, you can share your Wi-Fi internet connection with other nearby devices. However, a lot of iPhone owners have reported that personal hotspot fails to work on their iPhone models.

Before we proceed, make sure you now have a modern version of Apple iOS on your device. You can update your phone by opening the Settings > General > Software Update and check for any available updates.
Restart your iPhone
Restarting helps you fix some major iPhone problems like app crashes, frozen keyboard, or unresponsive touchscreen. In this case, rebooting may help you fix personal hotspot not working. However, if you now own an iPhone X, then the method used to restart your iPhone is slightly different than past iPhone models.
To restart an iPhone X, you simply need to hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume down button. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Power Off screen. Now just move the slider to the right to shut down your phone. Once you are done, boot up your phone to see if the problem is fixed.
Turn on personal hotspot
If the problem is still present, then there is a good chance that it is hidden inside the Settings app. If this is the case, you can easily bring it back to the main screen. The process is pretty simple and we will show you how in the section below.
Step one: Launch the Settings app from your home screen and then tap Cellular
Step two: Next up, tap Personal Hotspot and turn on the switch for Personal Hotspot
Step three: Once you are done, go back to the Settings screen and you should see Personal Hotspot under Cellular section.
Alternatively, you can try turning on the cellular network on your iPhone and then turn it back off. If the problem persists, then move on to the next solution.
Reset network settings
If nothing changes, then the last hope for success is to reset network settings on your device. Keep in mind that following this method, all of your settings will go back to their default state. This means that you need to set up the whole thing again.
Step one: Open the Settings app from your home screen and then tap General
Step two: Next up, hit Reset at the bottom of the page and then hit Reset Network Settings
Step three: Now just simply tap Reset Network Settings to complete the task.
