Steps to demand a refund for your iTunes or App Store purchases

You can definitely ask for a refund directly from Apple in case the app, music, books, movies, or TV shows you buy from iTunes or the App Store run into any┬áproblem. But keep in mind Apple doesn’t provide automated refunds, so you have to give a reason you want a refund and Apple’s customer service will then review your request.

Steps to get a refund using your iPhone or iPad

Apple users can go directly to problem reporting through their email receipt, and here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Mail app from your Home screen.

Step 2: You can search for Your receipt from Apple if it’s not instantly visible.

Step 3: Select the receipt for the purchase you would like a refund for.

Step 4: Tap on Report a Problem beside the purchase would like to report. You will be then taken to Apple’s problem reports page.

Step 5: You are asked to type in your Apple ID and password.

Step 6: Click on the Choose Problem drop-down menu, and then select a problem from there.

Step 7: You will need to describe the problem by typing in the text field.

Step 8: Once you are done, tap on the Submit button.

It may take Apple a few days to a week to approve your request.

Steps to get a refund using the web

If you are not using your computer, you can request a refund using any web browser.

Step 1: Point your web browser to Apple’s problem reports page.

Step 2: You are prompted to sign in with your Apple ID user name and password.

Step 3: Choose the appropriate tab – all, music, movies, TV shows, apps, or books.

Step 4: Click on Report a Problem next to the purchase you want refunded.

Step 5: Click on the Choose Problem drop-down menu, and then select a problem from there.

Step 6: You will need to describe the problem by typing in the text field.

Step 7: Once you are done, tap on the Submit button.

It may take Apple a few days to a week to approve your request.

Steps to get a refund using iTunes on Mac or Windows

Step 1: Open iTunes on either your Mac or Windows PC.

Step 2: Click on Account.

Step 3: You are prompted to enter your Apple ID and password.

Step 4: Under the Purchase History section, click on See All.

Step 5: Click on the blue arrow beside the purchase batch containing the purchase you want refunded.

Step 6: Click on Report a Problem at the bottom of the purchase batch.

Step 7: Click on Report a Problem beside the single item you want to report. You will be then taken to Apple’s problem reports page.

Step 8: You are asked to type in your Apple ID and password.

Step 9: Choose the appropriate tab – all, music, movies, TV shows, apps, or books.

Step 10: Click on Report a Problem next to the purchase you want refunded.

Step 11: Click on the Choose Problem drop-down menu, and then select a problem from there.

Step 12: You will need to describe the problem by typing in the text field.

It may take Apple a few days to a week to approve your request.

Note: App Store refunds normally take a day or two to process, and you may be contacted to verify the reason for the request.
